Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Serenity, LLC | New Jersey
Full-Time | Part-Time | Per Diem
Pay: $26-$31 per hour

Serenity is seeking a compassionate and dependable Registered Behavior Technician to provide one-on-one support to adults age 21 and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The RBT will assist individuals in developing positive behaviors, increasing independence, strengthening daily living skills, and participating safely and meaningfully in their homes and communities.

Responsibilities
  • Implement behavior support plans under the supervision of a BCBA or qualified clinician

  • Provide one-on-one behavioral and community-based support

  • Teach coping, communication, social, and independent living skills

  • Use positive reinforcement and approved behavior-support strategies

  • Collect and document behavioral data accurately

  • Complete service notes and required documentation on time

  • Support individuals during community activities, appointments, errands, and daily routines

  • Identify and report behavioral, health, or safety concerns

  • Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA, agency, and DDD requirements

  • Collaborate with families, guardians, supervisors, and members of the individual’s support team

Requirements
  • Active RBT certification in good standing

  • High school diploma or GED

  • At least 21 years old

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle

  • Ability to pass all required background checks and screenings

  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently in home and community settings

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities

  • Familiarity with the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities

  • Experience implementing behavior support plans

  • Knowledge of positive behavior supports, data collection, and crisis-prevention strategies

  • CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
