Job description

Oces is growing! OCES Protective Service Dept is expanding to 11 more towns including Quincy, Braintree, Weymouth etc. Apply Now during this exciting time ! 

OCES aims to support older adults and individuals with disabilities by providing vital information and coordination of services that promote healthy, save lives for our consumers. We want to help them stay as active and engaged in their lives and in their own communities for as long as possible.

To that end, OCES is looking for a dedicated Protective Services Worker (PSW) to work in our Protective Services department to investigate and substantiate allegations of abuse and neglect in the older adult community.

What you'll do:

  • Promote the independent functioning of members and provide services in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment
  • Conduct investigations and evaluate the functional capacity, situation and resources of the older adult
  • Develop and implement appropriate protective services plan to alleviate risk and abuse
  • Determine whether a petition to the court for a Protective Order exists and refer situations involving serious abuse to the appropriate District Attorney
  • Provide emergency PS department coverage during non-business hours

What you'll bring:

  • Your passion for helping others and desire to make a difference
  • Adaptability to be able to change as the needs of consumers and/or programs change
  • At least two years of experience in the human services field preferably with the older adult population and/or crisis intervention
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field highly preferred; Current licensure if appropriate
  • Bilingual preferred
