Melmark is a nonprofit organization providing clinically-sophisticated evidence-based special education, residential, vocational, and therapeutic services for children and adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, developmental and intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, medical complexities, and other neurological and genetic disorders.
Adult Day Program Staff Overview
The Adult Day Program Staff plays a key role in supporting and instructing individuals within Melmark's Adult Day Program. This position provides daily activities to promote growth, community integration, and independent living skills for adults with complex needs. You will be responsible for delivering vocational training, socialization, recreation, leisure, and communication skill-building. Join a compassionate team dedicated to transforming lives through individualized instruction and support within a highly structured and rewarding environment.
Schedule and Salary Information
• Full-time, Monday - Friday
• 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
• $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Requirements
• High School Diploma required, Associate's Degree in Education, Human Services, or Psychology preferred
• Valid US driver's license and must be at least 21 years old
• Meet Massachusetts CORI background check requirements
• Successful completion of employer-provided certification in CPR, First Aid, Crisis Intervention, and Melmark's Orientation Program
• At least 1 year of experience with specialized populations preferred
Adult Day Program Staff Responsibilities
• Provide vocational and independent living instruction in line with each individual's ISP (Individualized Service Plan)
• Support consumers in developing social, recreational, and functional communication skills
• Administer and document medications and health treatments as required
• Implement behavioral protocols and collect accurate data on behavioral and instructional programs
• Ensure safety through adherence to physical management techniques and universal precautions
• Participate in transportation duties, including maintaining van logs and ensuring safe travel for consumers
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by completing daily cleaning checklists
