Black & Veatch is seeking an exceptional professional to join our Infrastructure Advisory organization as a Manager - Consulting to provide expertise around ADMS-OMS implementation and other related utility OT projects.

The Team

The Delivery Team is a diverse group of early-to-mid career professionals with a solid foundation of utility experience and knowledge. Peers are engaged in a wide range of technical projects and encouraged to sharpen their skills to provide clients superior consulting services and continue to advance in a specialized career track. You will work with professionals in the Consulting and Digital Delivery Teams who represent a dynamic and cross-functional group of experts in strategy, data, technology, and asset management systems. Together, they deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that help clients navigate complex infrastructure challenges across diverse industries. 

We partner with clients to align their people, processes, technologies, and data in response to rapid industry transformation. Our work enables organizations to modernize infrastructure, optimize asset performance, enhance resilience, and achieve long-term sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage client engagement for complex, transformational programs in advanced distribution infrastructure 
  • Support and lead development of business and technical strategy, business case and implementation plan for ADMS implementation 
  • Lead client interviews and facilitate engagement among stakeholders in understanding ADMS functions, architecture, and infrastructure 
  • Work with clients to document and/or discover current and future states business processes 
  • Provide functional and technical expertise in various aspects of Digital Grid, Operational Technology, and ADMS/DERMS  
  • Perform and manage technical project work such as developing solution concepts, review of vendors' design documents, requirements traceability  
  • Support business requirements definition, request for proposal development; identify opportunities to bring proposals to clients and support business development efforts  
  • Support proposal evaluation, selection process, statement of work development and vendor contract negotiation 
  • Lead and/or participate in system testing 
  • Support development of project plans, key milestones, and project control structure 
  • Transfer knowledge, capabilities, and skills to improve others' knowledge and skill levels 
  • Bring strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles and negotiate resolutions to complex problems 
  • Be a change advocate and overcoming barriers to change for our clients and team members, navigate/resolve unforeseen challenges, effectively balancing scope, schedule, resources, and quality 
  • Manage meetings with defined agendas, effective group participation, time management, and action items tracking; ensure team members follow meeting protocols 
  • Develop professional-quality work products at each stage of the project management lifecycle, leveraging and adding to existing Black & Veatch delivery templates, processes, and artifacts for project management and solution delivery 
  • Manage technical project work such as developing solution concepts, review of vendors' design documents, requirements traceability  
  • Contribute to the business development process as a subject matter expert (SME) 
  • Create and/or support publication of thought leadership in areas of Digital Grid, Operational Technologies, and ADMS 
Management Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • 7 years of experience in business and technology consulting, relevant product management, and/or project implementation services as part of an OT vendor team 
  • Extensive Knowledge of Electric utilities operations functions and associated processes 
  • Actively participated in at least two ADMS projects with technical domain experience 
  • Hands-on experience in ADMS or other OT solutions 
  • Familiarity with major industry trends and OT/ADMS/DERMS vendor solutions 
    Master's degree in Information Technology or Engineering 
  • 2+ years of experience with electric utility control systems operations or maintenance  
  • Actively participated in at least two ADMS projects through the complete lifecycle including requirements development, design, systems integration & implementation and testing 
  • Knowledge of or direct experience with Grid Management & Modernization Solutions Deployment (e.g. Grid Modernization Technologies, Advanced Distribution Management System, Distributed Energy Resource Management System, Automated Metering Infrastructure) and/or Utility IT Transformation (Enterprise Asset Management, Work Management, Customer Information Systems, ERP) 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience
  • 7+ years experience in a business/consulting environment

Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • Ability to travel up to 50%; typical travel up to 25%
