Job Summary: 

Under supervision of the Chief Student Services Officer and in close collaboration with the Admissions and Marketing teams, the Admissions Recruiter (RAOS) helps expand awareness of UWest's unique educational offerings and attract prospective students who are seeking meaningful, purpose-driven learning. University of the West seeks an enthusiastic, relationship-oriented, and mission-driven Recruiter/Admissions Outreach Specialist to 

This position is ideal for an enthusiastic, relationship-oriented, and mission-driven individual who genuinely enjoys meeting people, building connections, engaging with young adults, and sharing the value of higher education. The RAOS is an energetic, charismatic, creative recruitment expert who is passionate about the transformative power of whole-person education—an approach that nurtures intellectual, professional, ethical, emotional, and spiritual development.

The RAOS serves as a visible ambassador for UWest and plays a key role in communicating the University's mission, values, and academic programs to prospective students, families, educational partners, and community organizations. 

The main responsibilities of this position are divided between recruitment/outreach (approx.70%) and office/administrative duties (approx. 30%).

 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit prospective students through outreach activities, events, presentations, and relationship-building efforts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with high schools, community colleges, educational organizations, and community groups.
  • Represent UWest at college fairs, recruitment events, campus tours, open houses, and virtual information sessions.
  • Engage prospective students and families through phone calls, emails, text messaging, social media, and in-person meetings.
  • Communicate the benefits and unique value of a UWest education in a compelling and authentic manner.
  • Assist with admissions operations, including inquiry and applicant follow-up, application processing, document collection and tracking, data entry, CRM record maintenance, and enrollment workflow coordination.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, alumni, and current students to support recruitment initiatives.
  • Utilize CRM systems and other technology tools to track recruitment activities and manage prospective student data.
  • Assist in developing creative marketing, outreach, and enrollment strategies.
  • Generate new ideas and opportunities to increase awareness of UWest programs and strengthen enrollment pipelines.
  • Stay informed about higher education trends and student interests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. 
  • Experience in admissions, recruitment, marketing, sales, customer relations, education, or community outreach is highly desirable. Higher education experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to speak comfortable to groups and to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and emerging communication technologies.
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally work evenings or weekends for recruitment events.
  • Appreciation of UWest's commitment to diversity, intercultural understanding, and Humanistic Buddhist values.
  • English and Chinese bilingualism is a plus.
