Job description

Summary: 

This position is responsible for performing routine operational duties related to mortgage, commercial and consumer loans in accordance with established policies, procedures and related laws and regulations.  Works closely with all groups within the Loan Department; and Loan Officers and Branch Managers throughout the loan process.  Reviews title work, loan approvals and terms and conditions of each loan; originating loan documents and coordinating settlements with customers and attorneys.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle loan requests, including documentation and perfect liens to protect the bank’s interest; reviews loan documentation requests to ensure agreement with loan approvals, and appropriate level of approvals are met. 
  • Maintains knowledge of Bank’s loan policy
  • Gathers, organizes, reviews, scans and tracks all required loan documentation required for each loan type
  • Maintains timely loan package progress updates; responds to inquiries regarding status of loans in process
  • Creates and prepares documents using Laser Pro for Commercial and Consumer real estate secured mortgages, and non-real estate secured and non-secured loans to include loan renewals, extensions and other change in terms requests
  • Prepares mortgage loan documentation ensuring TRID requirements and compliance are met
  • Prepares attorney instructions and order title work
  • Resolves any exceptions prior to settlement and funding
  • Prepares loan settlement packages
  • Performs document audit to approve or reject each loan package for funding
  • Schedules loan settlements with customers and attorneys
  • Administers the timely disbursement and receipt of funds
  • Maintain loan files and records and prepares closed loan file for booking and scanning
  • Maintains a positive and productive working relationship with Management, lending staff and loan officers. 
  • Adheres to Bank policies and procedures required by federal and state statutes, laws and regulatory rules. 
  • Adheres to Company’s Safety and Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Adheres to Company’s behavioral standards and Core Values, which are Trust, Customer Commitment, Teamwork, Excellence and Performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience):

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Minimum 1 year or more related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Mortgage or commercial loan processing experience, this includes an understanding of loan documentation and verifying documentation for commercial entities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of bank operating systems and lending operation functions
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule with extended hours when required to meet deadlines
  • Thorough knowledge of bank procedures and of State and Federal mortgage regulations to maintain loan file compliance
  • Experience demonstrating sensitivity and tact in handling highly confidential information
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Mobility sufficient to perform activities required of position, including travel to branch locations
  • Manual dexterity for the functional operation of office equipment, such as computers, calculators, etc.
  • Ability to actively engage in necessary communications with internal and external customers.
