About the Position

Valliant Consulting Group is searching for an Operations Manager with a background in Human Resources to support our Tribal client onsite in the Santa Fe area. This person will work closely with the Governor, Tribal Administrator, department directors, and staff to deliver exceptional human resources and operational services. This is an opportunity to grow your HR and Operations career by working closely with our team of senior HR consultants, and to impact our client's community.

This is an overtime eligible position paid $30-$35 per hour, with an estimated workload of 30-40 hours per week. While you will initially start as a Valliant employee, there is an opportunity to become a full-time member of our client's team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of the Tribe's daily administrative and operational functions, with primary responsibility for Human Resources, organizational development, policy administration, and operational excellence.
  • Administer all Human Resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, classification and compensation, performance management, employee relations, policy administration, benefits coordination, and workforce planning.
  • Support the Tribal Administrator to implement strategic initiatives, organizational priorities, and operational improvements.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate operational policies, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency, accountability, and service delivery.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental projects and initiatives to ensure organizational goals are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Tribal, federal, and state employment laws and organizational policies.
  • Advise managers regarding employee performance, disciplinary actions, investigations, workplace conflict resolution, and employment matters.
  • Support the development and maintenance of job descriptions, compensation structures, organizational charts, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive personnel and organizational information.
  • Encourage a positive working relationship between departments, and the community at large.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a closely related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in human resources, operations, organizational development, public administration, or similar work.
  • A combination of relevant education and related work experience may be considered.
  • Tribal or government experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR, THRP, IPMA-HR or similar and relevant certification preferred.
