ARTCO Lineboat Cook - St. Louis, MO
This is a full-time, non-exempt level position.
Position Summary:
  • ADM is seeking a skilled cook to prepare and serve daily meals under the direction of a Captain on a lineboat at American River Transportation Company (ARTCo).
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide balanced and nutritional meals at scheduled meal times
  • Provide fresh baked goods & desserts on a regular basis
  • Maintain & order galley stores and supplies within the budget allowed
  • Maintain organized and clean galley and personal area
  • Observe & execute proper personal and food service hygiene
  • Perform duties safely, efficiently and professionally
  • Report all injuries, illnesses, and near misses in a timely manner
  • Contribute to general welfare of the crew
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required or requested
Job Requirements:
  • Promote the ADM Way and core Values
  • Ability to follow direction and execute tasks under the supervision of captain
  • Work well independently while contributing to the welfare of a team environment
  • Have a proven history of safe work behavior and a genuine desire for cooking
  • Ability to manage the daily schedule necessary to provide required meals (generally not exceeding 12 hours per workday, except for holiday meals, which may require extra time)
  • Operate and maintain various galley equipment
  • Follow crew change procedures and company policies
  • Reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend/complete a variety of documents
  • Must have reliable transportation and from your crew change location
  • Willingness to work a 28 days on and 28 days off schedule
  • Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card required. If you do not have a TWIC card upon hire, it is a requirement that you apply for one within 5 days
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Carrying weights in excess of 25 pounds
  • Extended times of kneeling, bending, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping, reaching and sitting
  • Work near or on large bodies of water, at various heights and in confined spaces

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
