WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS POSITION
The Adjunct Faculty Member reports to the Law School's Associate Dean for Faculty & Curriculum. Some of the responsibilities of this role are:
Teach a course on Global Data Law: This course explores how U.S. and global data laws shape decision-making for governments, businesses, and individuals. Topics include AI, privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, social media, biometrics, and cross-border data use, with a focus on real-world legal and regulatory challenges. Through case studies and practical exercises, students learn to apply legal frameworks by assessing risk, developing compliance strategies, and advising on data-related issues. Ideal for those interested in technology law or regulatory compliance, the course emphasizes practical skills and current developments across a broad range of topics.
The adjunct faculty member will not be asked to attend department meetings.
She or he will be expected to spend some time outside of class to address questions related to the class.
Time taught to be determined by the applicant's schedule.
WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS ROLE?
Required Degree: JD required. Required degree must be completed by the start date. Must be an active member of the Utah Bar.
Experience:The applicant must have knowledge of the topic and significant teaching experience.
