WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS POSITION

The Adjunct Faculty Member reports to the Law School's Associate Dean for Faculty & Curriculum. Some of the responsibilities of this role are:

  • Teach a course on Global Data Law: This course explores how U.S. and global data laws shape decision-making for governments, businesses, and individuals. Topics include AI, privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, social media, biometrics, and cross-border data use, with a focus on real-world legal and regulatory challenges. Through case studies and practical exercises, students learn to apply legal frameworks by assessing risk, developing compliance strategies, and advising on data-related issues. Ideal for those interested in technology law or regulatory compliance, the course emphasizes practical skills and current developments across a broad range of topics.

  • The adjunct faculty member will not be asked to attend department meetings.

  • She or he will be expected to spend some time outside of class to address questions related to the class.

  • Time taught to be determined by the applicant's schedule.

WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS ROLE?

Required Degree: JD required. Required degree must be completed by the start date. Must be an active member of the Utah Bar.

Experience:The applicant must have knowledge of the topic and significant teaching experience.
