General Description: This is a part-time instructional assignment under the general direction of the Dean of Allied Health, Child Development, Kinesiology and Public Safety. The professor must be able to integrate the basic principles of nursing into both classroom and clinical instruction. The professor also must be able to assume responsibility for students in clinical facilities and establish and maintain communication between the facilities, its employees and the College.

The maximum teaching load is 10 units per semester, which may include evening and weekend hours. Examples of Duties Essential Functions: Provide instruction in accordance with established course outlines and expectations Inform students about course requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance policy Maintain required student attendance and scholastic records Prepare and grade class assignments and examinations Post and maintain regular office hours in accordance with prevailing policy Participate in the development and review of curriculum Participate in the development of teaching-learning methods and materials Participate in departmental, area and campus professional activities/committees Participate in the college's learning outcomes assessment program, including course, program, and institutional assessments Perform tasks needed for student records, e.g., submit grades on time to admissions and records Typical Qualifications Required: Any Bachelor's degree AND two years of professional experience OR Any Associate's degree AND six years of professional experience OR Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a Master's degree The equivalent The professional experience must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment and completed within the last five years A Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) license is required Promote and incorporate culturally affirming DEIA and anti-racist principles to nurture and create a respectful, inclusive, and equitable learning and work environment.
