Job description

Jovie
Bellevue, WA, USA
Summary:
A bit about us: We're a friendly co-parenting family looking for a reliable and sweet nanny to care for our two energetic boys, ages 7 and 10. Both children have ADHD, and our eldest is also on the autism spectrum. They are fun-loving, active kids who enjoy snowboarding, games, music, and bouncing on the trampoline. The position involves a structured after-school routine, including household tasks, meal prep, and driving to tutoring sessions. We have a warm and cooperative co-parenting dynamic, with homes just minutes apart. Our ideal nanny will become a stable presence in our boys' lives and engage them with a balance of fun and structure.
A bit about you: You're an experienced, patient caregiver who understands neurodivergent children and can meet their needs with humor, energy, and redirection. You love being active, whether it's jumping on the trampoline, playing games, or engaging in creative play. You're a reliable and consistent presence, able to balance fun with firm guidance. You understand the unique dynamics of a co-parenting household and bring empathy and warmth to children navigating different home environments. Perhaps you grew up in a two-household family yourself or have experience supporting children growing up in co-parenting households. You're adaptable, communicative, and sensitive to the needs of both parents, ensuring consistency and stability for the child. Our boys respond best to caregivers who are goofy, engaging, and structured while maintaining a calm and understanding approach. We hope that you're a dog lover who enjoys being around pets too, as both households have two friendly dogs.
Job Duties:
  • Provide after-school care, including snack time, homework support, and structured play
  • Help set and reinforce schedule with the children
  • Assist with child-related household tasks (laundry, dishes, meal prep, grocery shopping)
  • Drive children to tutoring or activities using the provided family car
  • Engage the children in active and creative play, including trampoline time and outdoor activities
  • Implement redirection and calming techniques as needed for behavioral support
  • Maintain open communication with both parents about the children's needs and daily activities
Start Date: Ideally by July 27th
Location: Mercer Island, 98040
Position Highlights: Long-term role with a friendly, supportive co-parenting family. Family-provided vehicle for driving children. Fun, active work environment with two energetic boys. Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on neurodivergent children's daily lives. Guaranteed hours. Willing to discuss additional benefits with the right fit nanny.
Qualifications: Experience working with children with ADHD and ASD preferred. Physically active and energetic to keep up with the kids' activity level. Strong understanding of redirection and positive behavioral support techniques. Organized and proactive with household tasks. Fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Reliable, patient, and able to establish a consistent presence in the children's lives.
Set yourself apart: Experience in special education, occupational therapy, or behavioral support. Background in physical activities like martial arts, gymnastics, or outdoor play. Creative approaches to engaging children in learning and play. Strong communication skills and ability to navigate a co-parenting dynamic smoothly.
Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday, 3:00-6:00 PM
  • Optional early start on Wednesdays (2:00-6:00 PM) if desired
Pay: $30-32
**All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired.
