You've walked a mile in their shoes - now solidly in recovery. Now, you're ready to help someone else achieve the same level of stability!
Compass Behavioral Health is looking for compassionate and supportive Certified Peer Support Specialists to join our dedicated interdisciplinary team, providing peer support services and assisting clients with determining personal goals for recovery.
We will train the right individual- this individual must have "lived experience" with mental health or addiction services and be solidly in recovery for at least one year.
In this dynamic role, you will use your experience and knowledge to provide highly individualized services in the community, promoting individual self-determination and decision-making to individuals with Mental Health or Addiction issues. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Has a high school diploma or equivalent. Is familiar with community resources. Possesses good interpersonal skills. Possesses an interest and investment in working with adults who experience a Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and their families. Must self identify as a present or former primary consumer of mental health services. Has the ability to work as a member of a treatment team in providing a continuum of services to consumers and their families. Has completed or will complete any required training within six months of employment with Compass Behavioral Health and maintain State training requirements. Is supervised by a QMHP.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Will obtain training and certification (if authorized) per the State of Kansas contract. This position requires a current, valid Driver's License. Will obtain CPR and First Aid Training and renew training annually. Will attend any other training and certifications directly related to this position.
