Job description

This position requires that the individual perform a variety of tasks based on the type of position or internship being offered. All volunteers shall operate in accordance with the policies determined by the Board of Directors and shall abide by all applicable federal, state and local regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • All positions must be punctual in reporting for their shifts at the proper locations.
  • All positions will follow the supervisory personnels directives when performing their tasks.
  • All positions will follow Mirror, policies regarding safety and security measures.
  • All positions will become familiar with the personnel policies of Mirror.
  • Observation of groups.
  • Observation of individual sessions
  • Chart groups.
  • Assist with assessments and treatment plans.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development certificate. If the position is that of a professional or counseling position, then educational background requirements shall be dictated by that particular profession and/or funded contract.
  • Good reading, writing and communication skills.
  • Awareness of the disease of addiction.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize various tasks required by the job.
  • Non-professional positions must have experience in the type of job required (e.g. secretarial volunteers must be proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft® Office including Word, Excel, Access, filing and answering the phone in a business-like manner; custodial volunteers must have knowledge of the proper chemicals to be used on the different surfaces, etc.) and shall meet the policies set forth by the agency.
  • Experience requirements may vary with the type of job.
  • Volunteers for counseling and/or other professional type positions must have the valid credentials required by the state and local agencies.
  • The majority of positions within Mirror, Inc. require the use of computer skills and applicants must have some knowledge of or possibly some proficiency in computer skills or experience or skills with an Electronic Health Record. Some positions require the ability to utilize a multi-line phone system while others require no specialized skills.
  • Must be able to pass background/security check
  • Interns/Volunteers who have been diagnosed with any type of substance use disorder or behavioral addiction/compulsion must have sustained a minimum of two consecutive years of abstinence from all intoxicating substances and symptoms of their chemical and/or behavioral addiction; and must be in full sustained remission
  • This position may also involve bending, walking stairs and lifting up to 40 pounds on occasion
