Job Purpose
  • Coordinating and executing a wide range of testing and development tasks essential for departmental and organizational goals. 
  • CMBS, ACC functions, AEB.
  • Collaborating closely with teams in Japan, international engineering teams, and external partners, this role ensures seamless alignment in developing ADAS software technologies. 
  • This position takes responsibility for specific ADAS technologies, overseeing development, validation, and testing within development projects. This involves both hands-on coordination and strategic oversight to ensure the successful integration of advanced driver-assistance systems, meeting high-quality standards and surpassing customer expectations.
Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for the development of the Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) Longitudinal Control software functions, as well as tuning vehicle control systems.
  • Will verify the functional software requirements related to CAN interface, Self-Diagnostic, Failsafe Detection for each vehicle development, working with the system supplier to coordinate the integration of these functions into the vehicle, as well as verification of the functions.
  • Creates and present technical documents/reports, including comprehensive root cause analysis when required.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • Educational qualifications:
    • Must have a college-level Bachelors degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics / Mechanical Engineering / Automotive Engineering / Controls Engineering or a related STEM field of study
  • Minimum work experience:
    • Must have at least 3 or more years of relevant experience working in the industry.
    • Should have a comprehensive understanding of vehicle dynamics, braking control functions, powertrain and experience for tuning vehicle control systems
    • Comprehensive understanding of requirements management, function validation, diagnostics, and CAN structures.
    • Hands on mechanical ability alongside understanding of vehicle systems.
    • Jira expertise will be an asset
    • Storng analytical skills to prepare prototype vehicles for testing.
    • Ability to troubleshoot system issues and propose solutions to those issues.
    • Good PC Skills (using Micirsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • CANalyzer, CANape and other technical software
    • Excellent communication skills coupled with the willingness to pro-actively seek out information from others and convert concepts into specific requirements.
    • Experience with data acquisition systems and Vector CAN tools is a plus.
    • Comprehensive understanding of electrical hardware fundamentals and software development process
    • Strong presentation skills

Driving licence requirement:

  • This role will require employee to possess a valid automobile driverโ€™s license, to operate vehicles on proving grounds, whenever needed.
Workstyle
  • This is an onsite job. One remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
  • Travel requirements: Approx. 10% annually - largely domestic and rarely international.
