Role:As a StaffSystemsEngineer on theSoftwareValidation team within the AV organization, you will play a critical role in leading the strategy and execution ofsystems engineering andvalidation efforts for autonomous vehiclesoftware.Youwillleverageyour experiencedesigningand implementing complex V&Vstrategiesto quickly prototype, gain consensus, and move our programsforwardwith increased trust and efficiency. Yourexpertisewill guide engineers indefining best practices, driving innovation insystems design,requirements development,andperformance verificationofautonomoussystems.You willbe responsible forshaping the future ofsystems engineeringmethodologies for AI systems and other ADAS features, architecting solutions that meet thedevelopment andtesting needs of AI developers, systems engineers, and safety stakeholders.You will work closely with cross-functional partners to define program goals and create actionable roadmaps that drive systems design execution.

About the Organization:TheAutonomous Vehicle (AV)organization is dedicated to advancing the development of autonomous vehicles throughcutting-edgesimulation technologiesand novel iterative development processes. TheSoftwareValidation teamfocuses on unlocking software launchesand continuous release decisions vianovel simulation V&V methodologies and targeted vehicle testing. Our collaborative environment fosters innovation and excellence, allowing us to push the boundaries of what is possible in autonomousvehicles systems engineering.

WhatYou'llDo:

  • Define requirements and metrics forvalidatingsafe and comfortableautonomousvehicle operations.

  • Decompose complex programs and features into actionable systems and defining acceptance criteria, influencing software developmentand launch decisions

  • Prototype and developsimulation-based and road-based testing strategies that supportcontinuous and scaled software release cycles

  • Combine experience insystemsengineering and data analysis tofacilitatedata driven design, validation, risk analysis, and prioritization decisions

  • Own roadmaps for developing long-term and stable requirements, verification/validation, and/or software solutions to advanced problemsover multiple product lifecycles

  • Mentor team membersandfacilitatecross-team collaboration to definesoftwarevalidation strategies for new launches

Your Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced degreein Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, orrelated fields

  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, robotics, systems analysis, data analysis, statistical analysis, or other related fields

  • Proficient in product decomposition and requirements management including system analysis, requirements authoring, test generation, and other validation activities

  • Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data and derive impactful conclusions

  • Ability to adapt andoperateunder ambiguity, going from quick code prototypes to long-term plans onbrief timehorizons

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of switching between high-level and detailed discussions

What Will Give YouACompetitive Edge

  • Proficient with SQL, Python, and C++ for analyzing large data sets

  • Experience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, vehicledevelopment,or ADAS development

  • Experience working with robotics simulation environments

  • Experience with requirements management tools (Jama, DNG, DOORS, etc.)

  • Proventrack recordof successful systems engineering for a safety-critical product

Compensation:

  • The expected base compensation for this role is: $157,100 - $241,500. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • You also need to include general information about potential commissions, if applicable.
  • Bonus Potential:An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
