This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

The Portfolio Senior Associate plays a critical role in supporting HarbourVest's Private Markets teams across portfolio management, and operational execution. This position offers broad exposure to portfolio operations, data management, Investment of Book of Records (IBOR) oversight and external fund administrators.

You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including the Credit and Evergreen teams, the Investment Data Operations team, Technology, Accounting, and coordinate with external fund administrators.

Please note: This role does not involve direct evaluation or execution of credit investments.

The ideal candidate is someone who:
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and process discipline are critical to supporting daily portfolio operations.

  • Enjoys digging into complex data issues, identifying root causes, and driving solutions across internal teams and external service providers.

  • Builds strong partnerships with stakeholders across investment, technology, and fund administration teams to deliver seamless execution.

  • Takes a continuous improvement mindset, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance reporting, automation, controls, and operational workflows.

What you will do:
  • Conduct daily IBOR reconciliation standups with onshore and offshore team across Credit and Evergreen products

  • Review and resolve reconciliation breaks presented by offshore team to meet daily production timelines

  • Coordinate timely trade capture process in IBORs with offshore team and communication to external fund administrators

  • Perform daily and monthly investment data reconciliations to multiple external fund administrators

  • Research data exceptions and enhance IBOR capabilities with Investment Data Operations team

  • Oversee and coordinate multiple third-party administrator relationships with daily and monthly portfolio requirements

  • Support product management through strategic initiatives, ad-hoc projects, and operational improvements within the Credit and Evergreen teams

  • Partner with Credit and Evergreen teams, Technology and other internal stakeholders to enhance data reporting tools and automation processes

What you bring:
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing requests

  • Solid understanding of credit markets, terms, and data requirements

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with keen attention to detail

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision

  • Technical proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; exposure to Power BI, and Snowflake preferred

  • Experience with Allvue and eFront is a plus

Education Preferred
  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S) credential or equivalent experience

Experience
  • 5-7+ Years of private markets, portfolio operations and analytics preferred

Base Salary Range

$110,000.00 - $120,000.00

This USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus, total compensation may include eligibility for long-term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement, health, insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography. Please note the posted ranges do not apply outside the U.S. and should not be converted to other currencies as a proxy for compensation in other countries.
