Position Overview:

Provides skilled individualized massage services to patients. The primary role is to perform massage and bodywork for patients to relieve muscular pain and tension, normalize joint function, increase circulation and relieve stress. Under the supervision of the Women's Health Resource Center's Nurse Practitioner, collaborates with other massage therapists on staff to implement and sustain best practices in the area of therapeutic massage and body work. Plays an integral role within the care team, acting as a resource and educator for patients, family members and clinical staff. Also provides specialized massage care to specific patient populations within other outpatient care centers.

Job Description:

EDUCATION
HS Diploma: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent education/experience

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

Certified Massage Therapist - CMSTCertification in integrative medicine massage therapy practices for specific patient populations such as cancer or pregnancyBLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

EXPERIENCE

2 year in Massage Therapy.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

In addition to swedish massage and oncology massage, also prefer training in three or more of the following areas: craniosacral therapy, deep tissue/sports massage, pre-natal massage, lymphatic massage, acupressure, ayurvedic massage techniques, orthopedic massage techniques, reflexology, jin shin jyutsu, and reiki. Must be able to work as a member of a dynamic integrative medicine team toward the highest quality service and patient outcomes. Communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology/anatomy and current knowledge of profession. Ability to work as a team player in a cooperative manner when dealing with patients, physicians, supervisors, and all co-workers.
