Job description


A non-profit organization is seeking an Activities Coordinator to assist in the overall planning, implementation, and execution of recreational, social, intellectual, educational, and fundraising activities. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; however, you must be available certain nights and weekends throughout the year which are planned well in advance. You will be working at the Lakewood location but will float between the Lakewood and Bay Village facilities.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, create, develop, and organize a full schedule of programs and activities with residents and community members
  • Collaborate with Executive Director on tracking expenses, revenue for all activities, and evaluate activities yearly
  • Work with Executive Director to ensure funds are available to implement and execute activities
  • Manage and maintain all stores open to the public.
  • Coordinate volunteer activities directly related to activities and event planning and manage and schedule all the above stores and shops
  • Attend regularly scheduled weekly supervisory meetings, once a week team meeting, once a month team meetings, and once a month full staff meetings
  • Lift, move, setup, and take down tables, furniture, and event displays, handle occasional weekend programs, and social projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or relevant amount of experience
  • Must have event planning knowledge or experience
  • Must be an organized, compassionate, energetic team player with a sensitivity to the needs of older adults
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable with public speaking and social media
  • Must be computer literate with a focus on Microsoft Office 365 and social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Canva
  • A high level of fast-paced activity involved in working on social projects simultaneously is needed
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to make occasional trips in personal vehicle
