Activities Director

As an Activities Director, you provide overall leadership for a vibrant, resident-centered activities and volunteer program that promotes connection, wellness, and purpose across the community. You lead and oversee daily activities, events, outings, and wellness programs. You develop engaging calendars and newsletters aligned with resident interests. You recruit, inspire, and manage activities team members and volunteers. You build partnerships with local organizations and community groups. You oversee drivers and coordinate community outings. You manage the department budget and monitor expenses. You review resident surveys and lead Resident Council meetings. You ensure compliance with federal, state/province, and Sunrise quality standards. You collaborate with Sales, Dining, and leadership on community events. You hire, coach, schedule, and develop team members.

You create meaningful experiences while building a strong, energized team that enhances resident life every day.

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, or related field OR Certified Activity Professional
  • 2+ years experience in senior living or community recreation
  • 2+ years leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and events
