Plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Activity Departmentin accordance with federal,state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be direccted by the Administrator, to assure than an on-going program of activities is designed to meet the intrests and the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident. 

Essential Functions of Position:

  • Establishes an activity program of wide variety for residents enhancing the residents' "wellness" in harmony with the overall plan of care set forth by the Health Care Team. 
  • Plans, implements, supervises and supports all operations of the the activities department. 
  • directs and organizes therapeutic activities to assist residents to meet care plan objectives.
  • responsible for ensuring seven day activity plan is developefd and adhered to. Regulates content of program in accordance with residents' abilities, needsand interest. Program must meet Federal and State guidelines. 
  • Maintains documentation reflects residents reactions and evidence of progress or other change of condition. 
  • Counsels and encourages residents to develop indepent leisure activities. 
  • Organizes and coordinates special outings and accompanies residents on outings such as ball games, sightseeing,and/or picnics.
  • Develops monthly activities that are seasonal an appropriate for the type of resident served. 
  • Particiapates in departmental budget planning. and supplies monthlyreport to Administrator. 
  • Supervises and conducts in-servive training for staff members on topics pataining to activities and recreation. 
  • Understands and adheres to the guidelines of Residents Rights. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned 

Education/ Requirements:  Must be an activities professional who is eligible for certification.  Experience in social or recreation program is a plus.  Must have high energy, creative thinking, and strong leaderships skills.
