Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, the Activity Leader I will assist the director in the implementation of programming. The Activity Leader I will foster social, physical, spiritual and mental growth and demonstrate the core values of caring, honesty, responsibility with program participants. The candidate will assist with staff supervision and provide leadership in the absence of the Director.

  • Experience working with youth is preferred.
  • A minimum of 18 years of age is required and high school diploma, or its equivalent required.
  • Passionate about working with teens with the ability to interact and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information on children, family and YMCA staff.
  • Must maintain current certifications in Heartsaver CPR, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention and New Employee Orientation or the ability to obtain within 60-90 days of employment.
  • Supervisory and administrative skills including ability to supervise program participants and maintain required program documentation and records.
