School Paraprofessional / School Aide

Location: Middle School Setting
Start Date: August 24, 2026
Contract Length: 36 Weeks
Pay Rate: $25.00/hour
Hours: Approximately 31 hours per week
Openings: 20

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated School Paraprofessionals/School Aides to support students in middle school special education classrooms. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on students' academic, social, and emotional success while working alongside educators and support staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in special education settings.
  • Assist students with academic tasks and classroom activities.
  • Support behavior management and utilize de-escalation techniques when necessary.
  • Assist with toileting and other personal care needs as required.
  • Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support student goals and individualized needs.
  • Encourage student independence and engagement throughout the school day.
Schedule
  • School-day hours beginning at 7:20 AM
  • Approximately 31 hours per week
  • Consistent Monday through Friday school schedule
Qualifications
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with special needs preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations.
  • Patient, reliable, and compassionate approach to student support.
  • Comfortable assisting with personal care responsibilities as needed.

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee.  The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements   
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
