Job description

Activities Assistant - Part Time, Assisted Living Facility
The Eisenberg Assisted Living Residence is an 80 unit (19 are special care) assisted living residence located on the campus of the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester, MA. The campus provides a full continuum of senior healthcare services to the community including: skilled nursing care, short term rehabilitation, long-term skilled nursing care, Alzheimer's care, private care, hospice and life-care management services.
We are looking for a part time Activities Assistant. This is a 16 hour position, working 3pm to 7pm on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This position includes work with residents in memory care.
Pay Range: $17-$19, depending on experience
The Activities Assistant assists with creation, coordination, and implementation of activities to meet needs, capabilities and interests of all residents, including those dealing with dementia.
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Conduct individual and group activities.
  • Ensure that activities engage residents of all functioning levels.
  • Assist in the dining room and other areas as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience with a geriatric population preferred but not required. Experience with dementia care preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with a diverse group of residents with various physical, social, and psychological needs.
