Job description

Reports to: Warehouse Manager Department: Industries

Classification: Non-Exempt Travel: none

JOB SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Specialist will assist in distributing, preparing, shipping and receiving. They will ensure that materials are sorted and stored in the warehouse or stocked on shelves as needed; and work closely with all Team members.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receive documents from carrier and verify amounts. Record amounts of materials received in ERP computer system
  • Certification of Forklift operations (Reach Truck and 3-Wheel Forklift) is required of all warehouse personnel, within 90 days.
  • Respond to all production requests for materials as top priority, with a quick turnaround time.
  • All Warehouse personnel must be able to perform their own inventory transactions in the ERP computer system.
  • Move items from receiving area to designated storage area following review by Quality Assurance Inspectors.
  • Fills orders from stock.
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Package orders for shipment.
  • Issue materials on internal request and distribute items to Department Supervisors or Material Handlers.
  • Updates Manager on inventory counts.
  • Ship finished goods using UPS and/or Fed Ex computer.
  • Sweep and clean warehouse area.
  • Assist with annual inventories.
  • Assist in resolving problems concerning warehousing, shipping, receiving and issuing.
  • Ensure proper packaging and marking for all shipments.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory controls and inventory records.
  • Ability to operate a computer and software, including UPS and Federal Express Internet programs.
  • Other duties assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of warehousing experience

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Ability to speak and write English
  • Ability to operate forklift, pallet jacks, and dollies
  • Valid Driver's License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop and bend for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more
  • Must be able to conduct repetitive motions on a daily basis
