Job description

Description

Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest 100% physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our practice includes 175 radiologists, 30 advanced practice providers, and more than 175 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion.

What we do: ARS provides services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. We are the exclusive radiology provider to West Michigan's largest Level I trauma center and research hospital, Corewell Health.  American College of Radiology has designated Corewell a Diagnostic Center for Excellence.

What we are looking for: We are seeking an Emergency Radiologist to join our section of 50 physicians!  This person could be fully remote or Grand Rapids based! The schedule will mainly consist of daytime hours, including shifts from 6a-3p, 7a-4p, 8a-5p, or 10a-6p.  Our standard schedule positions work 39 weeks and 11 weekends and have 13 weeks' vacation.  This is a partnership track position with full compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret ER-centric US, CT, MR, NM and conventional radiography
  • Function well in the fast-paced, time-sensitive emergency setting
  • Provide exceptional service to referring physicians and patients

Compensation/Benefits:  We offer a $50K recruitment incentive (sign on bonus), competitive compensation plan, stipends for on-site shifts, and opportunities for additional shifts on a month to month basis. Our physicians pay $0 for single or family medical/dental/vision coverage and enjoy an $18,000 medical reimbursement account annually.  We also contribute the maximum amount allowed to the 401K plan ($72,000 in 2026).  We offer 13 weeks of vacation for our standard track positions and we have a brand new 6-week paid parental leave benefit!

Why do you want to live here? Grand Rapids, Michigan, was recently named the #1 city on LinkedIn's inaugural "Cities on the Rise" list (July 2025)! The report highlights the city's growing tech scene, strong insurance industry, and expanding hubs in healthcare and advanced manufacturing. The region's affordable cost of living, proximity to Lake Michigan, reputation as "Beer City, USA" and bustling downtown continue to draw a growing community of young professionals.

Grand Rapids is Michigan's second largest city and less than a 60 minute drive to Lake Michigan beach towns such as Holland, Grand Haven, and Saugatuck.  Professional sports teams include the Whitecaps, the Griffins, the Gold and the Rise (baseball, hockey, basketball and volleyball).  A new 12,000-seat outdoor performing arts center, Acrisure Amphitheater, set to open in mid-2026, and a new professional soccer venue, Amway Stadium, opening in 2027, will add to the appeal of the downtown. Local hotspots reflect a vibrant cultural scene that makes the Grand Rapids area a fantastic place to live, work, and play.

Grand Rapids is a wonderful place to raise a family offering award winning schools, walkable neighborhoods, and an abundance of opportunities for kids to engage in culture, art and nature.  There are several museums, the ever-expanding John Ball Zoo and the world-renowned Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park for families to enjoy.

Why do you want to do telerad for us? Although we are based in Michigan, we have a well-established teleradiology practice.  We had remote physicians prior to COVID and currently have physicians working in 18 states.  We utilize Intelerad PACS, PowerScribe 360 and InteleOrchestrator; we have outstanding IT infrastructure and 24/7 help desk support. Our remote radiologists are encouraged to participate in virtual section, committee and board meetings and their input is essential to our practice decisions. You will have outstanding colleagues working virtually by your side as we have dedicated body, cardiothoracic, ER, neuro, pediatric, musculoskeletal, and ultrasound readers on first and second shifts and body, ER, neuro, and pediatric readers on third shift.

Requirements

  • Must have a demonstrated career interest in Emergency Radiology
  • Possess strong clinical skills in all modalities and organ systems
  • Certified by the ABR or AOBR
  • Completion of an emergency radiology fellowship or demonstrated experience in ER setting
