Job description

Company: Topo Intelligence

Location: Houston, TX / Remote-Friendly

Position Title: Sales & Customer Acquisition Intern

Position Type: Unpaid Internship / Part-time | Potential for paid employment based on company growth

Compensation: Unpaid — Equity in experience, real startup exposure, and a potential path to employment as Topo scales

Topo Intelligence is an early-stage SaaS startup building AI-powered products that automate the operational workflows organizations already run — eliminating manual labor without disrupting the systems people depend on.

Our mission: bring time back to the hands of the people.

Our first product turns hours of event name tag preparation into seconds. We are currently in our initial growth phase and looking for a hungry, people-first sales intern to help us acquire as many customers as possible — businesses, nonprofits, churches, schools, and individuals who run events and need a better way to operate.

This is ground floor. You won't be a cog in a machine. You will be one of the first people to carry this product into the market — and there are not many opportunities like that, whether you are just starting out or already have years of experience under your belt.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Prospecting and reaching out to potential customers across target verticals — nonprofits, membership organizations, churches, summer camps, schools, and event-based businesses
  • Conducting outreach via LinkedIn, email, phone, and in-person networking to generate leads and book demos
  • Running product demonstrations and communicating the product's value proposition clearly and confidently
  • Following up with leads, managing a simple CRM pipeline, and driving free trial signups toward paid conversion
  • Attending local networking events and community gatherings to represent Topo Intelligence and build brand awareness
  • Providing weekly feedback on prospect objections, market reactions, and what's working in the field
  • Supporting the founder directly on growth strategy and customer acquisition initiatives

Here's what you'll need to thrive:

  • You can sell. Not someday — right now. You can walk into a room, read people, and move a conversation forward
  • Background in sales, marketing, or customer acquisition — whether that comes from a university program, previous work experience, or simply a proven track record of getting people to say yes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills — you're comfortable on the phone, over email, and in person
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently without hand-holding
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — you understand that in a startup, the results you produce are the job description
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple outreach threads simultaneously
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn, Google Workspace, and basic CRM or sales tools is a plus
  • University students, recent graduates, and early-to-mid career professionals are all encouraged to apply

What we offer:

  • A rare opportunity to get in at the ground floor of a SaaS startup and leave a real mark on its early growth — not something that comes along often, regardless of where you are in your career
  • Direct mentorship from the Founder & CEO
  • A culture where your ideas, thoughts, and criticisms are not just welcomed — they are expected. If you see something we're missing, say it. Your perspective matters here
  • Real-world sales and startup experience that goes beyond what any classroom or corporate training program can offer
  • A genuine footprint in a company you helped build — not busy work, not a support role, but a real seat at the table
  • Flexible hours built around your existing schedule
  • And honestly? It's going to be fun. We're building something new, solving real problems, and there's nothing quite like being part of that early energy
  • A potential path to paid employment as Topo Intelligence grows, depending on the standing of the company at the time

This is an unpaid position. We are a startup in our initial phase of development and we are honest about that. What we can offer is meaningful work, real responsibility, and the opportunity to leave a mark on something early enough that it matters — whether this is your first step into the professional world or your next one.

If you can sell, believe in what you're doing, and want to build something from the ground up — let's talk.
