Acorn Distributors, Inc. located in Brownsburg, IN is looking for a Non-CDL, CDL B, or CDL A driver to safely deliver product to our wonderful customers. We have been a leading distributor of janitorial and restaurant supplies since 1976.
$2000 hiring bonus eligibility
Job Description: Drivers travel established routes to deliver products or render services and perform additional duties, as assigned. Committed to 100% customer service and accuracy. Uniforms provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Unload products at customers' or warehouse facilities as necessary
  • Down-stack product on truck throughout the business day
  • Upon delivery, record sales or delivery information and obtain customer signature on delivery invoice or pick-up requests
  • Complete and submit all related paperwork to the Transportation Supervisor or appropriate department, as necessary
  • Pick up returns and/or damaged product
  • Maintain presentable appearance - including personal appearance(uniform) as well company appearance (vehicle)Listen to and resolve customer concerns
  • Represent the company in the most positive manner - maintain presentable appearance, convey friendly, helpful, and competent disposition
  • Perform routine safety inspections on company trucks
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and DOT regulations, report violations to Transportation Supervisor
  • Other duties, as needed

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting and driving
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel,and sort and load
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move excessive weight (50 pounds or more)Can be stressful and may have stringent deadlines to meet - employees are expected to maintain certain levels of productivity and accuracy.

Equipment Used:
  • Two-wheeler, pallet jack, electric pallet jack
  • Mobile phone and calculator
  • Tractor trailer or 26' straight truck

Minimum Qualifications: (knowledge, skills, and abilities)
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in a manner that demonstrates teamwork and honesty
  • Must be able to communicate and comprehend both written (documents, orders, invoices, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals) and oral (customer interactions)information
  • Basic mathematical and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of and compliance with company policies, procedures, and distribution centeroperations as well as state and federal laws concerning D.O.T. regulations
  • Organizational and scheduling skills
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and Department of Motor Vehiclescheck and medical examination
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Licensing in accordance with state and federal requirements

Education/Work Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, minimum one (1) year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Will consider CDL-A, CDL-B and Non CDL License
  • State and federal regulations govern the qualifications and standards for truck drivers - all drivers must comply with federal regulations and any state regulations exceeding federal requirements
