Job description

About the Role

As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing all the activities of the overall general accounting functions. You will assist with oversight and maintenance of accounting systems, procedures, and policies. This position ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting and payroll data and acts as liaison between the company, government, payroll provider and Controller in providing required information and ensuring proper records are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain one or a combination of generally accepted accounting systems
  • Responsible for completion and oversight of accounting procedures (A/R, A/P, payroll entry, cash reconciliation, general ledger)
  • Monitor and review all records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transitions
  • Compile and record employee time and payroll data. May compute wages, deductions and prepare payroll using third party payroll software
  • Performing and managing all basic accounting procedures, including financial statement preparation, month end closing, journal entries and general ledger maintenance, inventory roll forwards, and fixed asset and margin analysis; help prepare supporting schedules for financial statements preparation
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers to address AR and AP related inquiries
  • Assist with PTO tracking, new hire, payroll data entry
  • Help review, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts in conjunction with preparing monthly reports for management
  • This role will perform a mix of routine daily functions and month end responsibilities in an onsite position located in Franksville, WI

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field preferred
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Familiarity with payroll entry and software systems.
  • High attention to detail; ability to take direction, self-check and follow up on work
  • Basic database experience, 10-key by touch, and calculator
  • Analytical and critical problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel, or other accounting software
  • Ability to apply discretion, and trust with confidential company information
  • Prior accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Macola or Epicor ERP systems, and Paylocity payroll a plus.

Required Skills

  • 3-4 years of prior bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic data analysis)
  • General computer skills and ability to learn new systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
