Stratas Foods LLC is the leading supplier of fats and oils to the Foodservice, Food Ingredients and Retail Private Label markets in North America and is a producer of quality bulk and packaged dressings, mayonnaise and sauces. Stratas Foods was formed in October 2008 as a 50/50 joint venture between ACH Food Companies (ACH) and Archer Daniels Midland (ADM).

Job Description

2nd Shift Position

Description:

The Sanitation Operator will be responsible for keeping areas in the production and or administrative areas clean and in orderly condition as assigned by leadership.  This operation is to be performed keeping safety as a primary objective and following established GMP, Safety, Regulatory and Stratas Foods procedures and policies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for supporting the plant's food safety culture and complying with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements applicable to the position.
  2. Clean/ sanitize assigned areas by following SSOPs
  3. Protect, cover, or remove boxes, material, or other industrial equipment that may be affected by the sanitation process.
  4. Collect and properly dispose of major dirt and /or product left over on production department floors or pans.
  5. Clean / prewash heavy oil, grease, and visible dirt from machines, overhead pipes, and conveyors.
  6. Wash walls and ceiling.
  7. Transport trash and waste to proper disposal area.
  8. Start pump to force cleaning solution through production machinery, piping or vats.
  9. Clean, sanitize, disassemble, and assemble equipment according to company procedures.
  10. Clean processing equipment, overhead pipes, and conveyors.
  11. Scrub processing tanks, vats, and kettles.
  12. Clean floors with mop and/or use electrical scrubber.
  13. Operate industrial truck to transport materials within plant.
  14. Must be trained to use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA guidelines.
  15. Complete all required documentation for procedures performed.
  16. Performs other cleaning duties of a similar nature as assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager.
Qualifications

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent

Related Experience: Previous relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or commercial cleaning. 

Competencies:

  1. High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  2. Experience reading and understanding MSDS (Materials Safety Data Sheets)
  3. 6 months experience in a Sanitation role.
  4. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short memos.
  5. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  6. No direct reports but must be able to direct other plant personnel who are assisting in the sanitation process.
  7. Bilingual is a plus

Physical:  Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods of time, work in confined spaces, and work with heights
