WHAT YOU WILL DO:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Learning Center Supervisor (Center Director) to oversee the operations and administration of one of our Early Learning Centers. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of early childhood development, and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education to young children. The Early Learning Center Supervisor will be responsible for managing staff, developing curriculum, ensuring compliance with state regulations and licensing requirements, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for children ages 0-5. Cedar Commons offers ECEAP programming and the Center Supervisor will be required to have or develop knowledge of ECEAP standards and their implementation.
WORK SCHEDULE: On-Site, Monday through Friday
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leadership and Management:
    • Provide visionary leadership to the staff and ensure the implementation of best practices in early childhood education.
    • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate teaching staff and support personnel.
    • Provide 1:1 Reflective Supervision
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes professional growth and development.
  • Curriculum Development and Implementation:
    • Develop and oversee a developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
    • Ensure that curriculum aligns with state early learning standards and reflects best practices in early childhood education.
    • Regularly assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and adjust as needed.
  • Program Administration:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the early learning center, including scheduling, budgeting, and facility management.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including enrollment records, attendance, and child assessments.
    • Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Family and Community Engagement:
    • Build positive relationships with families and serve as a resource and support system for parents/guardians.
    • Foster partnerships with community organizations, agencies, and stakeholders to enhance the services offered by the early learning center.
    • Organize family events, workshops, and educational opportunities to promote family involvement in children's learning.
  • Health and Safety:
    • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children and staff members.
    • Develop and implement emergency procedures and protocols.
    • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address any health or safety concerns.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and meet childcare licensing regulations and ECEAP program requirements and regulations

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role in early learning.
  • ECE classroom teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Washington State licensing regulations and early learning standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience with budget management and program development.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license and five-year driving history within Opportunity Council's Auto Insurance Standards.
  • Must have initial health examination indicating fitness for duty and free from communicable disease within 60 days of hire. Medical check-ups are required every two years thereafter.
  • Must have current first aid and Infant/Child CPR training (or obtain within 30 days) and must maintain certification for length of employment.
  • Must have TB test and submit test results prior to start of work.
  • Must submit verification of MMR vaccination, or other WA State accepted documentation of measles immunity, prior to start of work.
  • Must obtain Washington State Food Handler's card prior to start of work.
  • Must obtain a Washington DCYF Portable Background clearance to ascertain that the applicant has not been convicted of a child abuse or neglect offense per Washington State Child Abuse Law (Ch. 486, Laws of 1987) or DSHS licensing requirements.
