Affirmative Civil Enforcement (ACE) Investigator

CGS is seeking an ACE Investigator to join our team supporting the legal mission of a large federal agency in Hammond, IN. This position will allow candidates to demonstrate expertise in providing litigation support tasks like legal research, legal drafting, and administrative support to multiple attorneys.

Job Duties:
  • Independently or with the ACE Coordinator, meets semi-annually with designated agency personnel for the purpose of generating fraud investigations.
  • Conducts investigations to determine the merits and collection likelihood with respect to any matter or case assigned by the ACE Coordinator.
  • Performs a variety of ancillary investigations-related services in direct support of any assigned fraud investigation.
  • Utilizes electronic databases (e.g., CLEAR/Accurint, LexisNexis, PACER, SAM.gov, USASpending.gov) to identify and locate witnesses and subjects, verify corporate structure and ownership, and develop documentary evidence to support investigations.
  • Prepares interim and final reports on progress of investigations suitable for use by AUSAs in intervention, declination, settlement, and litigation decisions.
  • Participates in witness interviews jointly with AUSAs or federal agents/investigators and prepares memoranda of interview.
  • Reviews and analyzes voluminous documentary and electronic records, including claims data, financial records, medical records, and email productions.
  • Performs damages, loss, and overpayment calculations with factual support.
  • Coordinates with federal investigative agencies (e.g., HHS-OIG, FBI, DCIS, DEA) and agency program personnel.

Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience working on fraud investigations or similar experience.
  • Ability to pass a background check in order to obtain a security clearance.
  • Ability work onsite full time.
  • Must be a United States Citizen
