Job description

Electrical Estimator

A growing electrical contractor is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support commercial and industrial construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early-career estimating or electrical construction experience who wants to grow within a stable and reputable contracting environment. You’ll work closely with senior estimators and project teams while gaining exposure to a wide variety of projects and preconstruction responsibilities. Project experience may include commercial office building,

warehouses and distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, healthcare and institutional projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist with competitive bid proposals and cost estimates
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from electrical drawings and specifications
  • Review blueprints, one-line diagrams, and construction documents
  • Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
  • Support labor, material, and equipment estimating efforts
  • Utilize estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, or McCormick
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and occasional site visits
  • Assist with scope reviews, bid leveling, and value engineering
  • Maintain estimating databases and historical pricing information

Qualifications

  • 1–5+ years of experience in electrical estimating or electrical construction
  • Experience working for an electrical contractor preferred
  • Understanding of commercial and/or industrial electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications
  • Familiarity with Accubid, OST / On-Screen Takeoff desired
  • Knowledge of NEC codes and construction practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
