TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Waimea, Hawaii, 96796!

OB Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery

Contract | Full-Time | Rotating Shifts (Nights Preferred) | Onsite | 80 hours per two-week pay period required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a 5-bed OB unit encompassing Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, and Outpatient Testing
  • Manage and monitor laboring patients including high-risk cases such as PIH, placenta abruption, prolapsed cord, placenta previa, VBAC, GDM, PTL, and PROM; administer and titrate Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Insulin drips
  • Perform neonatal and adult care duties including IV starts, Accu-checks, PKU testing, APGAR scoring, bulb suctioning, DeLee suctioning, phototherapy monitoring, and newborn resuscitation as needed
  • Assist anesthesia with intrathecal and epidural administration; monitor PCA pumps; attend C-sections and recover post-operative patients
  • Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate tracings; manage patients on Cytotec, IUPC, ISE, and amnioinfusion; assist with external cephalic version (ECV)
  • Float to other departments as needed based on census; utilize unit equipment including Avalon fetal monitoring, PYXIS, Ohmeda Infant Warmer, Neopuff, Bilibed, Neoblue, and neonatal/adult crash carts; document using paper charting
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Couplet care (Postpartum and Nursery) experience required
  • Active RN licensure (Hawaii license or compact eligibility required)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
  • STABLE and Fetal Monitoring (FM) certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience managing Special Care Nursery patients and phototherapy
  • Familiarity with Avalon fetal monitoring systems and PYXIS medication management
  • Experience assisting with circumcisions and external cephalic versions (ECV)
