Job Description:

  • Manages the Pathway to Excellence® project, including application, document submission, site visit coordination, and designation processes.
  • Contributes to an environment of motivation and commitment to Pathway to Excellence® designation through education, communication, and celebration.
  • Provides direction to department and facility leadership in planning a systematic, organization-wide approach to continuous regulatory readiness.
  • Chairs the applicable accreditation readiness committee and communicates relevant changes to standards, prepares reports, educational materials, and/or presentations.
  • Coordinates the planning and execution of the annual intra-cycle monitoring and conducts tracer activities within the hospital and clinic settings.
  • Performs chart abstractions, audits, and documentation reviews to identify compliance with regulatory bodies; prepares summaries of gathered information and attends surveillance rounds. Plans, develops, and conducts educational programs on accreditation for employees, and facilitates mock surveys and improvement plans.
  • Prepares survey-specific documentation as requested by regulatory agencies and participate in on-site surveys, including coordination of agendas and communication with surveyors.
  • Facilitates the development of corrective action plans as part of post-survey activities and collaborates with all members of the healthcare team.
  • Provides leadership and direction for compliance with ANCC Pathway to Excellence® standards; coaches and mentors nurses in their understanding and application of these standards.
  • Leads Pathway to Excellence® committees and coordinates education and staff development related to Pathway to Excellence® standards.
  • Serves as an advisor to nursing leadership and shared governance councils and as a liaison to the ANCC Pathway to Excellence® Program Office.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organization skills, including completing work by established deadlines. [Required]
  • Ability to evaluate and correlate clinical information with appropriate criteria and is able to utilize available computer hardware and software. [Required]
  • Skills to develop and engage in educational activities to facilitate learners’ achievement of specific objectives. [Required]
  • Teamwork, networking, and facilitation skills. [Required]
  • Communication skills. [Required]


Education:

  • Associate of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]


Work Experience:

  • 1+ with teaching and/or leading evidence based project [Preferred]
  • 3+ as acute care nurse [Preferred]


Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$65,392.09 - $114,226.98
