Accounts Payable Supervisor (42864)


Our client is an organization in the Mequon area looking for an Accounts Payable Supervisor. Our client is looking for someone with strong accounts payable expertise, proven supervisory experience, and a passion for developing teams while driving process improvements. This individual will oversee the day-to-day accounts payable function, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient payment processing while maintaining strong internal controls.


The salary range for this position is $90kโ€“100k.


The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the daily operations of the accounts payable department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the accounts payable team by providing training, performance feedback, and ongoing support.
  • Review invoice processing, payment batches, and vendor maintenance activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Oversee check runs, ACH payments, wire transfers, and other electronic payment processes.
  • Resolve complex invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and vendor inquiries while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Monitor department performance, establish priorities, and ensure service levels and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting best practices.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Accounting, and Operations teams to resolve issues and improve workflow efficiencies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounts payable operations and increase efficiency.
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, and other accounting or finance-related projects as needed.


The Accounts Payable Supervisor will possess the following:


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree for candidates with extensive supervisory experience.
  • 1+ year of direct supervisory experience leading an accounts payable or accounting team required.
  • Strong, in-depth accounts payable experience with a comprehensive understanding of invoice processing, payment cycles, and vendor management.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and lead effectively in a fast-paced environment.
