Job description

Position Summary:

Structure Tone, part of STO Building Group, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Administrator to support project accounting and administrative functions for its construction operations. 

This position supports the full project accounting lifecycle, from job setup and cost tracking through billing, compliance documentation, and closeout support. The Accounting Administrator works closely with project teams, subcontractors, and internal accounting leadership to ensure project financial records are accurate, timely, and complete.

The ideal candidate has experience in construction accounting or project-based financial administration, understands job cost tracking and billing practices, and can effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Duties

  • Assist with project setup, including job information, billing requirements, contract values, and related accounting system updates.
  • Assist with accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payment support, coding verification, and resolution of AP-related inquiries.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical files.
  • Prepare correspondence and respond to subcontractor inquiries related to lien waivers, contracts, and subcontractor compliance documentation to support accurate project administration.
  • Support special projects and audits as required.
  • Support project closeout and organize required financial documentation.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administration experience.
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office, with strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred

  • Experience with construction management systems such as CMiC and Textura.
  • Familiarity with lien waivers, contracts, and subcontractor compliance documentation.
