Job Description ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST - Construction Our longstanding client, a fast-growing commercial HVAC general contractor located in Smyrna, is adding an Accounts Payable Specialist to their wonderful team. This position will be performed at our client's office and the normal work hours are 7am to 4pm. A little flexibility can be allowed on the work hours if needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES: The Accounts Payable Specialist has the following responsibilities and duties: Maintain purchase orders to ensure proper job costing and GL coding consistent with job cost accounting standards Track and reconcile open POs Review and reconcile monthly vendor statements Process vendor invoices for approval, revise for any approver comments and post Maintain vendor relationships and ensure updated record-keeping (W-9s, tax exemptions, etc.) Cross train to support accounting and payroll teammates. Tasks including but not limited to: Assisting with the onboarding process for new hires Ordering and tracking office supplies for the main office and field site Handling miscellaneous data entry, scanning, filing, and other tasks as needed CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience, construction industry/cost accounting experience strongly preferred High school diploma required, college courses or certifications in accounting are a plus Strong work ethic and ability to problem solve Detail oriented, inquisitive, determined and reliable Professional and positive attitude Proficient in Excel and Word; Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum or another construction accounting software is a plus Possess strong organizational and time management skills; ability to self-direct as appropriate Understanding of basic accounting principles Ability to interact and communicate with peers, employees, customers and vendors in a professional manner Ability to work independently with emphasis on efficiency, accuracy and timeliness COMPENSATION: A salary of $65-68,000 depending on experience match BENEFITS: The following benefits are available to employees and eligible dependents after 1 month of service: 401k Health, dental and vision insurance Paid time off Basic life insurance Long-term disability Flexible Spending Account Telehealth.
