As an Accounting Manager on the Card Controllers project team, you will be surrounded by intellectually curious professionals every day, all with the end goal of creating a seamless, well managed experience for our accounting stakeholders. Responsibilities:
-Lead moderate to large complex initiatives by providing direction to partners, peers, and direct reports.
- Lead a highly dynamic and cross-functional team
- Understand customer expectations; current gaps & technical constraints; drive requirements and ultimately partner with the line of business and finance teams.
- Ensure effective performance and on-time delivery of all tasks.
- Develop and train associates. Possible coaching and mentoring of associates throughout the Controller's organization.
- Interact and communicate with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes
- Multitask and prioritize diverse tasks
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting or audit or finance, or a combination
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of banking or finance industry experience
- 7+ years of experience in accounting or audit or finance, or a combination
- Data analysis experience (Tableau, Python, SQL or a combination)
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and reconciliation system experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- Project Management Professional (PMP), or Lean or Agile Certifications (Product Owner, or Agile Project Mgmt, or SAFe Scaled Agilist)

This role is hybridmeaning associates typically spend 3 days per week in-person at one of our offices listed on this job posting.
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Manager, Accounting
Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Accounting
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
