About Washington Intern Student Housing (WISH):


Washington Intern Student Housing (WISH) is the largest and most popular intern 

housing program in DC. For over 30 years, we’ve provided intern and student 

properties in historic neighborhoods, and opportunities to meet and network at 

WISH social and professional development events.



Job Title:


Business and Operations Internship


Job Duties/Responsibilities:


• Support in sales and marketing phone calls

• Aid in responding and following-up with applicants

• Assist with the tracking of payments, applications, and inquiries

• Prepare notices for property visits and inspections

• Develop letters, presentations and reports

• Assist WISH management on various projects throughout the semester

• Assist with general office management, clerical duties, and equipment maintenance

• Maintain, order, and stock office supplies

• Manage the reception area to ensure effective telephone communications

and deliver customer service to our customers

• Assist managing incoming and outgoing mail, scanning documents, and sending to Accountant, CEO, and other staff members

• Be a resource for WISH residents

• Attend various events and meetings with WISH staff

• Work with staff and volunteers on event day to make the WISH event a success

• Obtain practical business experience

• Gain accounting knowledge

• Attain negotiation skills and experience

• Improve written business-communication skills

• Enhance time management skills

• Develop computer skills

• Promote and develop skills that enable team development

• Gain or improve upon networking skills, while making valuable professional contacts

• Other duties as assigned


Compensation:

Free furnished housing in a double-occupancy bedroom at a WISH location in Washington, D.C.
