Purchasing Manager - Arlington, TX (Hybrid after training)

As a Purchasing Manager for (company) you will work with our Supply Chain management team to develop and execute actionable purchasing strategies. This includes utilizing our inventory management system to manage inventory levels, leading the buying team, developing and maintaining strategic supplier relationships and reaching departmental goals. The Purchasing Manager position reports to the Director of Purchasing and Supply Chain.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead Purchasing department personnel, overseeing the purchasing process.
  • Analyze existing purchasing processes for performance; identify and implement process efficiencies.
  • In coordination with Supply Chain management develop and implement procurement strategies that allow for successful negotiations of favorable pricing, terms and agreements.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels and inventory turns to meet turn goals; utilization of inventory management metrics and ABC Classification.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with supply base.
  • Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with internal customers.
  • Establish measurable regional department goals, with supporting metrics.
  • Analysis and reporting of cost trends and availability of materials with a full understanding of supply/demand challenges and the ability to leverage/navigate.
  • Responsible for adequate inventory of all parts for customer satisfaction.
  • Review and maintain ISO operational procedures for the purchasing area.
  • Responsible for hiring new employees and ensuring training for success.
  • Evaluation of quality, pricing and service of supply base.
  • Responsible for annual cost-savings goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree (or pursuit of) in business-related field, preferably concentrating in Supply Chain or Purchasing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Word, including ability to do VLOOKUPs in Excel.
  • 5+ years of related experience in a buying/purchasing role, with previous management experience.
  • Experience and understanding of inventory management practices, including ABC classification
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Professional attitude and representation.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Results-orientated.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and completement while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to establish relationships with vendors.
  • Blueprint reading and understanding.
