Job description

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, SOX Controls, and external audit requirements
  • Manage general ledger accounting functions, including allocations, payroll accounting, fixed assets, accounts payable, accruals, and cash
  • Prepare and book journal entries with supporting documentation
  • Own multi-state payroll accounting and processing in Paylocity, including tax setup and compliance, payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and troubleshooting
  • Prepare weekly vendor changes and vendor payment runs, detecting and escalating suspicious changes and duplicate payments
  • Manage the employee expense reimbursement program, including expense reporting administration, policy compliance reviews, employee support, and reconciliations
  • Coordinate Finance onboarding and offboarding activities, including system access provisioning, user maintenance, and training
  • Prepare quarterly government census/statistical filings
  • Assist with 401K and quarterly and year-end financial audit activities
  • Monitor and analyze financial accounting data
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting stakeholders and teams across the Company
  • Liaise with external auditors to close PBC requests and auditor inquiries
Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, including direct, hands-on multi-state payroll experience
  • Proficiency in payroll processing, tax filings, and reporting; ability to work independently in the system
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including independently preparing and booking journal entries and reconciling complex accounts
  • Experience with accounts payable/vendor management controls and understanding of fraud risk indicators
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilitiesAbility to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and respond to changing priorities in a hyper-growth environment
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion, Paylocity, Fidelity, and Concur is a plus
  • Previous Life Sciences or Biopharma experience is a plus
