Job description

This position is in-office in Shelton, CT

This role provides both in-person and remote support to a diverse range of clients—including exciting start-ups and small businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, QuickBooks Online, and a deep understanding of small business financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and clean up client accounts (individuals and entities)
  • Maintain consistent client communication and relationship management
  • QuickBooks knowledge and experience is a must
  • Support Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) questions
  • Enter transactions into client’s accounting systems
  • Identify and prepare journal entries, as needed
  • Perform account reconciliations (bank, credit card, etc.)
  • Prepare and file Sales Tax returns with sales reconciliations
  • Prepare Payroll and 1099 Filings
  • Prepare Annual Income and Expense and Personal Property Tax filing
  • Assist clients with accounting software, app integration, POS systems, and other tech solutions
  • Support special projects as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 4 years of bookkeeping experience or equivalent certificate
  • Expertise with QuickBooks Online (QuickBooks Desktop experience a plus)
  • QuickBooks ProAdvisor credentials preferred
  • Hands-on experience with financial automation tools and QuickBooks integrations
  • Solid understanding of both cash and accrual accounting
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience filing Sales Tax returns
  • Bonus: Administrative or tax season support experience
