ACCOUNTING CLERKPosition: Part-TimeSummary: Accounting Clerk responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports, and aiding the department when needed. Duties include general accounting, account reconciliations, detailed postings, and clerical support tasks in the accounting department. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. You will also run accounting software programs (e.g. QuickBooks) to process business transactions, like accounts payable, data entry, and cash posting. A successful accounting clerk should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.Reports organization's finances to management, and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision.
