Job Summary

Responsible for accounting and reporting related to company's fixed rate and floating rate debt instruments, revolving credit facilities, derivatives related to foreign exchange including issuance of new debt instrument, redemption, refinancing, open market repurchases and tendering of existing debt. Assist financial reporting in reporting of disclosures pertaining to debt structure, preparation of work papers, including spreadsheets and system queries. Prepare schedules for internal and external reporting purposes, as assigned.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record debt accounting entries for global debt and derivative financial instruments, including interest accruals, discount amortization, debt issuance costs, fair value adjustments, new debt issuances, redemptions, open market repurchases and debt tendering in accordance with accounting standards. Reconcile balances and activity to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare monthly and ad hoc schedules for debt and derivative financial instruments, including monthly roll forward schedules, interest variance analyses, debt retirement analysis, among others, to report on monthly, quarterly and year to date activity, with attention to detail and organization, consideration of internal controls, and with proper referencing and supporting reports, including supporting internal and external audit requests.
  • Prepare account analysis and account reconciliations, and perform other internal control activities to validate balance sheet accounts for debt, interest, and derivative financial instruments. Prepare account analysis for other accounts as requested.
  • Prepare and record accounting entries for certain intercompany debt.
  • Provide assistance to the external reporting team, as requested or assigned, to prepare assigned sections of quarterly and annual financial reports and analytical package and supporting workpapers with attention to detail, organization, and standardized referencing.
  • Provide assistance on special projects, as requested or assigned.
