Accountant
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial records, support month-end close, and ensure accurate accounting for manufacturing operations and fixed assets. The Accountant will prepare financial statements, maintain general ledger integrity, oversee fixed asset accounting and depreciation, and collaborate with operations to reconcile production costs and inventory. This role contributes to timely reporting, compliance, and process improvements within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities, preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analyses.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting: record acquisitions and disposals, calculate and post depreciation, maintain fixed asset register, and perform periodic physical asset counts.
  • Support cost accounting and manufacturing finance activities: reconcile production variances, analyze work-in-progress and finished goods inventory, and assist with costing and standard cost updates.
  • Prepare and assist with financial reporting, including internal management reports and statutory filings as required.
  • Coordinate with procurement, production, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate recording of manufacturing expenses and inventory transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls; support audit requests and implement recommended improvements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and enhance the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with fixed asset accounting, including asset register maintenance, depreciation methods, and asset disposals.
  • Familiarity with cost accounting and inventory accounting for manufacturing operations.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
