Lima One Capital is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role plays a key part in supporting our monthly accounting and reporting functions within a fast-paced, growth-oriented real estate lending environment. The ideal candidate brings strong foundational accounting skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to leverage modern ERP and AI-powered tools to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our accounting workflows. Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end close and year-end processes, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation and support for general ledger accounts
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages
  • Reconcile bank statements to the general ledger monthly, identifying and resolving outstanding items in a timely manner
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations across key accounts including cash, loans receivable, debt (line of credit), accrued liabilities, and intercompany accounts
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies, escalating issues to senior staff as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data
  • Utilize Campfire ERP to process transactions, maintain the general ledger, and execute close activities
  • Leverage AI tools including Claude and Shortcut to draft reports, analyze data, automate repetitive accounting tasks, and manage workflow deliverables
  • Query Snowflake data warehouse to extract financial data in support of reporting and reconciliation activities
  • Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and visual reports to communicate financial trends to leadership
  • Write and troubleshoot SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze financial data across systems; use Python or similar scripting tools to automate recurring accounting tasks and streamline data analysis

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or 4+ years of related accounting experience in lieu of a 4-year degree may be considered.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services, mortgage lending, or real estate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Tech-savvy with a genuine interest in working across modern accounting and data platforms; experience with accounting ERP systems and familiarity with Campfire, Snowflake, Tableau, or AI-assisted tools (Claude, Shortcut) a strong plus
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and analyzing data; basic coding or scripting experience (e.g., Python) is a plus for automating reports and streamlining data analysis
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict close deadlines; experience working in a SOX-compliant environment preferred
