Role Overview: Senior Accountant, Revenue Accounting Arlington, VA | In-office, Monday-Friday We are seeking hands-on Senior Accountant, Revenue Accounting to prepare workpapers for revenue accounting function. This role will be responsible for preparing workpapers related to revenue recognition, ensuring compliance with ASC 606, optimizing financial processes, and partnering cross-functionally to support Costar's continued growth. The ideal candidate has knowledge in SaaS/software and eCommerce business models, including subscription-based revenue streams revenue accounting. Revenue Accounting & Compliance Prepare workpapers related to revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606, ensuring accurate and timely revenue reporting. Prepare the workpapers and interpretation of customer contracts, ensuring proper accounting treatment and adherence to revenue policies. Ensure to apply process improvements in revenue recognition, billing, and reporting to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Ensure compliance and internal controls related to revenue processes. Coordinate with external auditors to support revenue-related audit requirements. Prepare monthly and quarterly revenue close processes related workpapers, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper cut-off. Cross-functional Collaboration & Leadership Collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Product teams to evaluate revenue implications of new business models, pricing strategies, and product offerings. Review SaaS, software, and professional services contracts, ensuring proper revenue treatment and identifying risks. Systems & Process Optimization Enhance and automate revenue accounting processes leveraging Oracle Fusion. Drive scalability in revenue operations to support Costar's continued expansion across global markets. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College. A track record of commitment to prior employers. 4+ years of relevant accounting experience. Experience working in or auditing large international public companies. Knowledge in ASC 606 and revenue recognition within SaaS/software and eCommerce business models, including subscription-based revenue streams. Preferred Qualifications 4+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting. CPA or equivalent designation strongly preferred. Experience working in a high-growth, global organization.
