Position

The Seasonal Tax Associate position will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive tax services to clients within our tax practice. The employment term will run from approximately January 15th through April 30th of each year. This role requires a driven professional with a passion for combining analytical abilities with strategic, common sense thinking to deliver accurate results in fast-paced, dynamic environments. The Seasonal Tax Associate will thrive on balancing the need for technical accuracy with the ability to communicate questions and needs in a clear and impactful manner to a diverse audience, both at the internal team and client levels.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviews tax information submitted by client for completeness; meets with, emails, or calls clients with questions.
  • Possesses knowledge of tax regulations to answer clients’ questions that may arise and ensure the accurate entry of data into forms, under supervision of managers and partners.
  • Prepare personal tax returns of varying complexity to show the ability to grow and expand one’s technical knowledge.
  • Prepares Corporate, S-Corp, Partnership, and Trust returns that are simple to moderately complex to show the ability to grow and expand one’s technical knowledge.
  • Responds to tax notices of any sort and does initial drafts of any letters required.
  • Performs tax research projects requiring minimal expertise to serve client needs and to build one’s technical knowledge base.
  • Prepares miscellaneous forms occasionally including property tax refund forms, Form 1099’s, and payroll tax returns.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of progressive tax experience with a CPA firm or national tax service.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a degree in a similar related field. Master degree in Taxation or Business Administration is beneficial.
  • A CPA or EA designation, and/or 5 years of documentable tax experience is beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state (especially Florida) tax laws and regulations related to construction.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software from CCH Axcess, Thomsen-Reuters, or similar tax software.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMs, etc.).

Schedule

  • Normal Office Hours: Monday thru Friday, 800A – 500P.
  • As a seasonal tax associate, the employment would be from January 15th - April 30th to coincide with the tax season.
  • This position within the tax practice would NOT require typical tax season hours, and total hours worked per week are negotiable.
  • Hybrid work opportunities may be available with approval of practice leader, but this is an in-office role with some flexibility.
  • Position is based out of either their Fort Myers, FL or Naples, FL offices.
