Description:

Corrigan Krause is assisting their client, LRC Commercial, in the search for a permanent Accounting Manager located in Southfield, Michigan. LRC Commercial is a real estate investment firm specializing in acquiring, renovating and managing commercial, residential and industrial properties. Due to the company’s rapid growth, this role will play a key part in supporting and scaling the accounting function. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the company's accounting and financial areas, while also being an integral part of moving the business forward.

Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee all accounting functions, including GL, AP, AR, and payroll
  • Supervise and develop two staff accountants, including review and workflow management
  • Lead month-end and year-end close; ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and key performance metrics
  • Manage job costing and project accounting
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Oversee cash management and forecasting
  • Ensure effective use and integration of AppFolio, QuickBooks Desktop, and Entrata
  • Coordinate with external CPA firm on taxes and year-end activities
  • Establish and refine accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements
  • Provide financial insights and ad hoc analysis to support leadership decisions
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
  • CPA or CPA-track a plus, but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Comfortable working independently with clear procedures
  • Experience with AppFolio, QuickBooks Desktop, and Entrata Software is a plus but not required
  • Proficiency with general accounting systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to take and pass a background check
