Job description

Overview

Responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the accounting and financial operations for assigned properties and work effectively as a team member and participate actively and constructively.


Responsibilities
  • Maintain general ledger for each assigned property.
  • Generate various financial statements and reports for internal and external use on a monthly basis.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations including, balance sheet account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations and complete review of profit and loss statements for reasonableness.
  • Perform day-to-day accounting functions including, debt payment processing, fixed asset related accounting, analyze escrow accounts, and other activities as required.
  • Prepare annual real estate tax accrual workpapers.
  • Monitor monthly reporting including, gross possible rent, aged A/R and cash report.
  • Provide information for the annual budget process for each assigned property.
  • Prepare annual audit documents for each assigned property.
  • Prepare annual property tax returns for each assigned property.
  • Maintain communication with each assigned property’s lending institution.
  • Work with personnel in other departments as needed to provide requested financial information.
  • Complete other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Proficient in standard information technology tools, including Office products and general ledger software
  • Knowledge of Yardi Property Management and Accounting software preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
